Synopsis

Autacoids are locally acting biological mediators that regulate physiological and pathological processes. This abstract explores key autacoids, including histamine, serotonin, prostaglandins, and leukotrienes, highlighting their roles in inflammation, smooth muscle modulation, and vascular homeostasis. Pharmacological interventions targeting autacoid pathways, such as antihistamines, prostaglandin analogs, and serotonin modulators, have revolutionized therapeutic strategies for allergic reactions, cardiovascular conditions, and pain management. Understanding autacoid mechanisms enhances drug development and precision medicine approaches for various disorders.
